Waxing contraindications
The following conditions may prevent you from being waxed, owing to health and hygiene considerations:
- Bacterial Infections – includes impetigo, stye, and boils
- Viral Infections – includes cold sores (herpes simplex), conjunctivitis, genital warts, psoriasis, raised and hairy moles
- Prescribed Medication for skin – a doctor’s note is required if you are using medication including Retin A, Accutane, and Steroids, leading to skin thinning, which can tear the skin if waxed
- Sunburn/Heat Rash – you will need to wait at least 24 hours until waxing can be carried out
- Diabetes – a doctor’s note is required
- Varicose Veins – a doctor’s note is required
Waxing contraindications
for your safety and comfort, waxing may not be suitable if you have any of the following conditions:
- bacterial infections – including impetigo, styes, and boils
- viral infections – such as cold sores (herpes simplex), conjunctivitis, genital warts, psoriasis, or raised and hairy moles
- prescribed skin medications – if you are using retin a, accutane, or steroids, a doctor’s note is required, as these can cause skin thinning and increase the risk of skin damage during waxing
- sunburn or heat rash – waxing cannot be performed on sunburned or irritated skin; please allow at least 24 hours for healing
- diabetes – a doctor’s note is required due to potential complications with skin sensitivity and healing
- varicose veins – a doctor’s note is required, as waxing may aggravate the condition
